Not only is exercise IMPORTANT for a great body image, but also for your internal health as well. BUT...be sure to check with your doctor before starting any kind of exercise program, especially if you plan to do a program with intensity.
If you have Atrial Fibrillation and can pinch a few inches of belly fat, then you are heading for big trouble!! People without Atrial Fibrillation and who have belly fat are "normally" at risk and are likely heading for diabetes. People with A-F and belly fat, likewise, are heading for diabetes. But in the case of A-Fibbers, exercise can likely help lower blood pressure and insulin spikes as well.
By reducing your body fat through exercise you are strengthening your heart and simultaneously reducing strain on two levels, on your heart and on your body joints. You will find movement throughout the day to become easier and require less effort, and therefore, less strain on your heart throughtout the whole day.
Most important point of all: Atrial Fibrillation is indeed a form of heart disease. Like other heart disease treatments, exercise can be valuable therapy for A-Fers, if carefully done and carefully managed in conjunction with your doctor. Oh...and yes, you will have to do more than just walking. You need to work with your doctor to gradually speed up your exercise movements and to increase the intensity of the exercise to burn body fat better and quicker. You need to perspire. But, because you already have heart disease, be careful as you learn to pick up the pace.
Wishing you improving health.
